Squeaking Steering Column

I've got a squeaking steering column. I've taken the entire asy apart, cleaned the bearing and repacked with grease. I've also cleaned and lubed the entire steering shaft.

The noise went away for a couple of weeks, but its back.

Anyone know how to fix this? It's REALLY annoying.

Re: Squeaking Steering Column

The column in my 69 started squeaking while turning after I put new body bushings in. Turns out I changed the angle to the steering box that the column had been in for years. I loosened the ragjoint and the collar that attaches the column to the firewall and :wiggled" things aroung to make it straight again. no more squeaking when turning.

Don't know if that helps.
