can I add suspension upgrades while my motor is out

I have new shocks/springs, multi-leaf springs, sway bar and Cal tracs bars ready for my '68 project. But the car has the motor and tranny out. (rear-end is on the car). do I need to have my motor and tranny in the car to add these things for weight purposes?

Not if you buy a set that is matched. I have installed a Hotchkis set in mine, and it doesn't even have a floor at the moment. When the body is complete, I want to roll my sub frame with the engine bolted in, under the car and go. It is the best time to rebuild the front suspension. It will all settle down when they power plant is dropped in.
