Lowering Leaf Springs

Ok, so here is the deal. My wife made me buy a house. Its nice and has 2 garages on 8 acres so I can't complain. However, I also can't afford my 4 link. So, the 12 bolt and leafs will have to go in for now.

I am currently running DSE 3" drops. Shock mounts are custom and the car is mini tubbed. It sits way, way too high. I can use a 3" block and its about right. However, I'm no fan of running a 3" block.

So, does anybody re-work springs anymore? With all this pro-topuring all you hear about is coil overs and 3 and 4 links. I have coil overs in the front, but the back half is going to be a while. Anybody with experience? I don't mind a stiff ride, wow that sounded horrible. Suggestions?
