Manual to Power Steering Conversion Question

When changing from manual steering to power steering on a 69 Camaro and using a quick ratio steering box (not the Z28 one) just a 3 turn
box do I need to change my steering arms?

Im also going to replace the manual drum brakes with power front disk brakes. A factory GM type install. What do I need to change in terms of my spindles and steering arms? I want to make the car as if it came from GM with front disk and power steering. I intend to do the factory type setup but I was going to use a quicker 3 turn steering box.

Re: Manual to Power Steering Conversion Question

You will need to change the rag joint and pitman arm to convert to power steering.

We do have complete power disc - Single piston - style kits avail with all you need in one kit. You will not need to change the steering arms, they will bolt right up to our spindles.

We do offer several types of steering boxes, pumps, ect..

Checkout our post in the sponsors forum for disc brake kit specials for team members!
