anyone got a similar combo?

Been reading everything I can find, and calling anyone with a phone and after a thousand revisions this is where I'm at for a suspension plan for my 69. AFX tall spindle, qa1 coilover conversion kit with 450lb spring rate, hotchkis 1-1/8 hollow sway bar, Lee 12.5:1 steering box and maybe stock control arms for now. In the back, hotchkis 3 inch drop leafs with qa1 or varishock single adjustable shocks. This is a pro touring type street only with 245/40/18 on all corners. Small block aluminum head. What I want from it is a "civil" ride quality, "sporty" handling and I really want it to be lowered 3 inches from stock. I chose the coilover as the easy and affordable method of getting the stance where I want it, as well as finding decent ride quality with the adjustable shock. My main concerns are weather or not I can get the car down that far with this combo. Anyone got any thoughts or experience on this? Or any part of this plan? Thanks.

Re: anyone got a similar combo?

Hi i lowered my car by 3 inches by using 2inch lower HD front springs and by using aluminium front sub frame bushes . I made the sub frame bushes myself a did them so that the sub frame just touches the floor pan . On the rear i removed one leaf from the springs as they were too firm anyway in fact they still feel a bit stiff and i redrilled the front spring perch which gives about 3/4 inch . The car sits pretty low and speed bumps can cause problems for the exhaust which hangs a bit low . The ride is firm and i use the car on the road and do some track days when i can . I would also say that you dont need to spend bucket loads of money on the suspension to get it to work ok . Pete
