Freakin Rotors wont go back on!!!

Ok,

So the outer wheel bearing on my 68 camaro was obliterated.. I took the rotor off and the inner wheel bearing was stuck to the spindle but still in very good shape.. I used a gear puller to remove it and it came off fairly easy.. Then I took the rotor removed the races and installed new races and new bearings (inner and outer) and a new grease seal. I cleaned and inspected the spindle and it looked fine BUT now I am trying to put the rotor back onto the spindle and it will NOT slide all the way onto the spindle!!

My question is how EASY should it slide on? I am assuming it should not be pressed on but I dont want to force it on either.. Is it time for a new spindle or do I need to emery cloth it down? Literally sitting with dirty hands here so anyone that can answer this for me as quickly as possible would be appreciated.

BTW Matched up the size of the inner wheel bearing to the old one and it is the same..Also, the races are fully installed

Thanks
Mark

Polish the spindle with emory cloth. It doesn't take much to keep a bearing from going on.

Yes polish it with some emery cloth and lubricate with WD 40.

As Mike and Chad said, all's it takes is one little burr to keep it from sliding on if the race is slanted or too much grease might cause some binding too. You should have tried the race on the spindle before installing in disc, but thats water over the bridge now.
