traction bars

ON MY 67 COUPE I have traction bars on the rear they have been on the car since the 70"s i redid the rear about 6 years ago . new axles new springs put multi leaf in . this month i put on frame connectors so i had to drop the front of the springs . and the traction bars where a bit scratched so i took them off and re painted them . and i remember reading that there is a procedure for installing the traction bars I dont think they have ever been installed correctly . so my question is does anyone have the procedure or a link

thanks
tony

Re: traction bars

Are they like the ones John links too that replaces the shock plate? or are they universal (no plate) that bolt on with square type U-bolts on either side of the shock plate?
