69 steering column

I posted a thread in the classifieds for the part I need to fix up my column, but as there was a technical question about compatability between parts, I thought I'd ask here.
The part I'm working on is the upper housing for the ingnition lock/key cylinder. It's also where the turn signal arm and hazad flasher knob are located.
Originally, my car was a column shift automatic, that was converted to a floor shift. I found a place that has the upper housing, but it's for a column shift manual.
Does anyone know if the upper housingwould be the same for an auto or a manual. seems like they could be the same since the shift column for both types is actually below and seperate from the upper housing. Unless there was some kind of internal difference...any help is much appreciated..

Same part for both columns.

Re: 69 steering column

I agree. My steering column assembly drawing shows the manual transmission (column shift) bowl is the same as the automatic transmission (column shift) bowl.
