which 3 leaf set is the way to go?
Need some opinions...got info back from 5 suppliers, and need to see if anyone has any experience...or if one is definitely better to go with. Here is what we currently have:
We have a 1967 coupe and plan on adding the subframe connectors at the same time (already have the competition engineering bolt ons). The car won't be raced (although it won't be out of the question to get on it from time to time), but we are looking for a good combination of comfort and performance (the Camaro is a weekend driver)...hence the move from the 5 leaf currently installed and not a switch to the mono leaf (the previous owner had wanted to race it, so he put on the 5 leafs with CalTracs traction bars). We don't want to raise or lower the vehicle much past stock, and the front end appears to be stock height. From what I understand, the 3 leafs all raise the end about 1.5" over a new stock mono, and the Hotchkis lowers about 1.5" under stock...just not sure what I'm going to get. The attached pics are with the 5 leaf that have raised the rear end.
1) Classicmuscle.com, made by JR Springs -$200
2) SD Trucks.com, made by multiple sources including Eagle, JR Springs, or other US made (depending on inventory) -$200
3) Eaton, made by Eaton -$349
4) Spring Works (local shop), Triangle Springs -$451
5) Hotchkis, made by Hotchkis (2407c) -$459
I would rather buy the better of the five, but if all things are equal...I don't want to just pay extra if it doesn't benefit us in our situation.
Thank for the help
