Blue paint on steering center linkage

I found a series of blue paint dots on my center steering linkage, which I removed for a sub frame restoration. Anybody see these before and what do they mean, if anything?

Looks like the aqua engine paint from the 70's.

Re: Blue paint on steering center linkage

That was my first thought since someone painted the engine blue at one point, but the dots continue around to the other side, but not like a paint run, just dots.

Re: Blue paint on steering center linkage

OK, found an old post that indicated steering linkages received blue daubs of paint, steering arms had orange places near ball joints had white paint. The post indicates these colors signify the part has been inspected and is ready to install.
