Power Steering Pump Stud

I am looking for some simple advice. I am swapping power steering pump on my 69 SB and need to pull the stud from the back of the old one to install in the new one. So far, I haven't been able to break it loose (or the simple bolt in the back of the new one). Before I put an impact wrench on it, is there any secret to getting them loose? Thanks

Re: Power Steering Pump Stud

I did mine a couple years ago - don't remember any special trick. Impact away! Pretty sure I remember there being a rubber o-ring gasket between the pump body and the reservoir where that stud goes through so just make sure that doesn't slide out of the way or you'll have a leak there.
