I believe the JL8 option was only available on Z/28's, which mandated the heavy duty (12-bolt) rear end.

As far as how much they are worth, it depends. One guy will pay alot more than the other. To give you an idea, a pair of reproduction JL8 caliper hose brackets will run you $125. An original JL8 setup is worth more than my engine alone, probably.

While they are worth quite a bit. They are really just Corvette parts. The special 12 bolt housings had Vette bolt pattern brackets welded on where the backing plate brackets go.

A 12 bolt could be converted by cutting off the old bracket and welding on a hand made new one with correct pattern.
If you forgo the E-Brake, Guldstrand sells a flat 3/8" plate caliper bracket that bolts on.
The rotor drops on with no mods.

I bought those jl8 rear discs. They are in perfect shape right down to original brake shoes. When I went to try them on my 12 bolt they bolted right up. They have a small plate that fits over the axle housing and bolts right up to the existing mount. This steel plate has eight holes in it 4 to mount to the axle housing and 4 to bolt to the caliper mount. I have put the axle in and mounted the discs and caliper and everything lines up perfectly. I am getting all the parts bead blasted and powder coated(except the calipers). Does anyone know what colour they should be.

I would recommend the Jerry McNeish book The Difinitave Camaro (Z-28) book. It has the complete part numbers and paint schemes and codes. We are nearly complete with a 69 Z-28
want to see some pics . . . . .

I priced a full JL8 rear end from Ricks and hold, brace yourself and sit down. $8,500 bucks. That was a year ago, so you might want to see if the price has dropped (ya right...chuckle).

Heartbeat city has a full set front and rear on their page right now for that nice low price of $8500.
