I am wanting to convert my manual to powersteering. I would like to eliminate the rag joint and use a shaft with Borgeson U-joints. What did you use? Part numbers, etc. What type of shaft? Who did you get it from? My car is a 69.

Thanks in advance,

I'm not trying to be a smart a-- here but why don't you call Borgeson and ask them b/c they are selling their U-joints to be used just like you want to.

Please get back to us w/ what they say. Good luck w/ your hunt. pdq67

Try checking out the new Camaro Performer's magazine (winter 2002). It has an article (Assisted Developement) that features the mod you want to do. Hope this helps you.

Got some info. On a 67-69 there is not any room to use u-joint design unless you plan on moving your column or putting in new column. Would require moving and rewelding column bracket.

Jaybird,

Do you have any pics of your ride with the hotchkis suspension? I want to see how low it sits.

Lee sells a better rag joint with steel mesh in it. A completely solid U joint will transmit more noise.
Borgeson sells a rubber isolated joint, I've heard.

David

That Lee rag joint with the steel mesh sounds interesting. Do you know where to get one?

Thanks
