I am going to lower my anti sway bar, jut in case I have clearance problems with the balancer. I think 1/2 inch would be enough is that correct? also could I just use a few grade 8 washers to shim it down and buy longer bolts? any other reccomendations?

Shimming it with washers and buying longer bolts is the way it is done most of the time. Don't forget, you may have to trim the tubes on the link that mounts the bar to your lower control arm.

when i installed my 406 i had problems too. I just used a 1"wx1/2"t peice of flat bar and used the frame mount as a template, gave me about 1/4" clearance.
