Well Tony asked what the status was on my rear in this thread www.camaros.net/forum/Forum7/HTML/002901.html

I thought pic's would say it better...

This is the loaner rear, you should have seen it before I started... Should be back on the road by next Sunday if all goes well!!

Nice rear end you have there Dennis,
Also nice to see that Amsoil on the shelf. Be sure to fill that diff. with the good stuff as well.

I like the way your leaf springs look. What kind of finish did you do?

Well THERES the problem! That garage is simply WAY too clean and tidy! Where's the greasy rags? Where are the spewen tools on the floor? And most importantly, where the hell is the dirty socks and jeans?!

Looks good dennis. What's the gear ratio? I almost stopped by your house today but diverted east to Santa Nella.
Are we going rear disc also?

Thanks guys,

Amsoil is for the first oil change in the new mill. The springs and the backing plates should have looked the same. (Actually closer than the pictures show) Used this stuff from NPD that is susposed to be the correct color for a camaro steering box. Too blue for me so I dusted them with a cast iron I found at Kragan. The backing plates could have used another dusting of the gray.

I won't comment on the garage, you haven't seen the other side! The breeding thing isn't working, gear oil everywhere!! I think the compressor is making the posi uncomfortable David I owe you an e-mail and I am interested.

The one without brakes is a 2:56 pegleg that a buddy loaned me until I do something with the '67 mono perch and find a posi to take it's place. The brakes will get transfered this week if I get some time... Disc's could be in the picture when this is all over!! Had you stopped by I'd of put you to work Stevo and the rear would have been back in place. My loss!

This is the never ending story that my wife always refer to. Now after seeing that rear end , I now noticed that I have to do some real detailing on mine. More $time$ needed for the Camaro, I'm gonna blame you Dennis.

Tony, I'll try to send you an e-mail tonight...

Thanks to everyone on the nice comments. I still have some detailing to do. The bolt flanges (is that what they are called?) should be black like the axle housing. I really fear scratching it up installing it all back in the car too!!
