Unhappy

I was talking to a local who is also building a '67 Camaro the other day and mentioned I was going to install solid bushings. He advised against it saying he did that on his truck and the metal to metal contact wore through his floor pan and he had to weld in new metal. Has anyone ever heard of this? I figure if it is tight the metal shouldnt move however now Im wondering.....

He's an idiot, . I think you're correct, there is no rubbing since everything is 'solid'.

Good to hear Im on the right track, he put stock GM rubber bushings in his car. With 430 hp that should be interesting. Shoulda known to ignore him when he told me the ladder bars on his car were stock GM pieces......

loca along with "hoto" - but that's a different post - please don't cut off the spanish lessons DjD.

CarlC - that's two posts today that have had me ROTFLMAO

On the subject of solid body bushings. I've used them on a Firebird (VSM) and on an off-road pick-up, didn't have trouble one with body fatiguing around the bushing area.

that`s why solid bushings are made of aluminum. aluminum is softer than steel, so the steel will wear out the aluminum before it does the steel.
