Hey all,
I just added p/s to my 68. I bought a reman Fenco gear (p/n sg16530) and pump and used Edleman hoses (p/s 70230, i think this was the pressure hose). My problem is that the high pressure hose leaks at the fitting going into the gear. It seems as though the gear has more threads than the fitting and that the fitting doesn't actually "seat" or seal. Is there supposed to be some sort of intermediate adaptor or fitting? Thanks!

Remove the hose from the box and take a look at the brass flare seat in the port.
It may be damaged or if the leak is huge, it may be missing.

Later boxes have a different seat with O ring seal and metric port threads. The US flare nut will screw in but be kinda loose. Hopefully they didn't use a late model core for your box.

thanks for the speedy reply. What do you mean by the the flare seat? My box did come with o-rings, though the threads don't seem particularly loose. Could i possibly re-flare the line, or add an o-ring? The leak isn't pouring out, it just seeps out during operation.
