Hi Guys,
I got a 60 nova, and the power steering works great when I start it up and its cod, after driving it for 10 min it gets really hard to steer, as if the power steering is no longer assisting, when I stop for a while it starts working again.
Is it cavitating with air?
Am I using the wrong fluid maybe I should stick to ATF?
Is there a sticky valve?
Thanks for your help in advance.

sounds like it is foaming up.
does the pump make more noise when hot? If so, then air is the problem.
Use the clear PS fluid recomended for later model cars, NOT ATF type A as stamped on some old pump caps.
ATF is not as slippery as PS clear fluid.

I have an opposite problem, power steering won't work until running for a few minutes. By the way, what does a 60 nova look like ?. LOL
