Gear Box Replacement

Hello, I hope all everybody is well? Does anybody have a video, photos or instructions on how to replace my power steering gear box on my 1969 Z/28 camaro. I have the replacement box already and would like to install this properly.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Gear Box Replacement

Jeff: Replacing the steering box is not a difficult process but does require some tools to remove the Pittman arm and some tubing wrenches to remove the pressure hose. A medium sized gear puller will work for the Pittman arm. A Chilton or Haynes manual covers this procedure adequately.

If you still don't feel comfortable doing it, a good alignment shop can do it. As its not too difficult the cost should be minimal. Having an alignment shop do it guarantees the Pittman arm is centered along with your steering wheel.

Re: Gear Box Replacement

Most auto parts have a puller you can rent for the pitman arm.
