Hotchkiss system not low enough (2" front, 1.5" back)

Hi.

My car is lowered 2" front (with hotchkis spring) and 1.5" rear (with hotchkiss lowering leaf) but I want more.
(see my car hre https://www.camaros.net/forums/attach...0&d=1480089639)
I would love to be as low as this one : 1968 Chevy Camaro RS/SS, Barrett Jackson, mint condition, Lemans Blue for sale: photos, technical specifications, description
I think it is 3" lowered front and back ? With 17" wheels ?

To do so, I think I need lowering block for the rear (1" or 1.5").
For the front I don't know what to do? Cut 1 inch from hotchkis is a bad idea? I need to buy 3" spring?
The problem, with 2" the front wheel is already touching the wheel arch (sorry I don't know the right english word ). What do I need to do to go 3" drop?

Thank you

The best option would be to order new 3" lowering springs front and rear, but that would be fairly costly.

If you cut the coils, you only want to cut 1/2" from the coil spring to lower it 1", per Hotchkis instructions. Use a cutoff wheel, and only cut from the end of the coil spring that is not flat. Keep in mind that if your wheels already hit, then lowering it will only make it worse, you may need to find wheels with a better backspacing.

You can use a lowering block in the rear, or take the springs out and have a professional de-arch them. De-arching is a better solution if you can find a shop to do it for you.

I run stock .750" wire , 550# springs. I did what the above is talking about, cutting 1/2 coil at a time and when you put the spring back, put the bottom coil into the control arm pocket.

I have lowering blocks in rear. If you order, might order a set of 3/4 and or 1" . You may want to try out. I doubt you would be going for anything lower due to tire.
Rearching your spring may put you too low.

Don't forget that if the front tire rub in front on the fender bolt, you can replace it with button head bolts. 1 per side.

My car stands 8" curb height at the rocker panels.
