Adding power booster

All,
I have a '69 with non-power drums. Ugh! Eventually, I will be going to a C6 setup but until then I want to add a 8" power booster. So here is my question:

Will the existing brake lines reach the new location of the master cylinder once with the booster behind it? To me, it looks like they will since the lines are looped before they attach to the distribution block. I am also not sure if they can be straightened out without cracking them.

I am sure someone has done this and can give me a good answer.

Thanks
Robert

Re: Adding power booster

It all depends how old your brake lines are and how far the booster will push the master cylinder out. Once those bends are formed in the lines it is not easy straightening them out and avoid any kinks in them. You can try but be prepared to get new lines.

Re: Adding power booster

I added a MC/booster to my 4 drum setup, but replaced the tired old lines with new stainless lines. Ordered a disc version of the lines and had to tweak them a bit and reuse the master to diff block line for the rear. You really cannot use the old manual master, unless you like REALLY touchy brakes! Get a new repro 69 master like I did, then when you upgrade your front disc, the MC and booster are already done.
