Viking Dbl adjustable shocks

Has any tried to fit a Viking Dbl adjustable shock through their stock lower control arm? I have a 69 and have heard rumors that some grinding is involved. Please let me know if you have tried this combo and how it worked out.

Thanks! I know I can always count on the knowledge base here.

Re: Viking Dbl adjustable shocks

I have them on my 2nd gen. I faced the knobs to the inside of the car. I cut out the control arm to gain access to the adjuster knobs. On a 2nd gen there was minimal cutting.

Re: Viking Dbl adjustable shocks

FYI for everyone.

The Viking Dbl adjustable shocks would not fit through the stock lower control arm, not even close. I will need to buy some aftermarket lower control arms.

Re: Viking Dbl adjustable shocks

Is this a Coilover or a Smooth Body ViKing Shock?

If it is a Coilover, I would always recommend a Tubular Arm (well made)

that being said, most Aluminum bodied Shocks are going to be too big to slide through a lower a-arm (even tubular).
