Advice needed on firming up the rear mono leaf

Gday guys, I’ve got a 68 running 20” rims on mono leaf stock height springs, with 31 spline big flange ford 9” diff (axel) which has fabricated with lowered spring pads. It has a Performance Online (POL) rear disc brake (staggered shock) setup.

First problem, when I put it all together the first time the car sits that low that it bottomed out (hit bump stops) and actuated the park brake levers on top of the calipers, which dragged the rear brakes and cracked the rotors...

I love the ride height visually, but the rear is that soft if you push down on the rear bumper with one hand, the car moves down between an inch and inch and a half..

Is there a way I can firm up the rear suspension without having to fork out big dollars for a coil over or airbag setup? Would a set of multi leaf springs firm the rear up for cheap? If so what do you guys recommend?

Can’t seem to attach pics to show you guys, maybe it’s a newbie thing?

you can have leaf springs "re-sprung"...but it likely will raise the rear some

have you considered multi-leaf springs?

That’s an option I’m considering, will it firm the rear up going multi? That’s what I’m aiming for really, keep the ride height, but firm the suspension up a lot, make the rear a lot more rigid. Can you suggest any in particular that might suit?

Re: Advice needed on firming up the rear mono leaf

Recommend J.C. Whitney's three leaf spring conversion from mono. They come in std ride height and lowered. My guess is you will want the standard ride height since you have your perches set up to lower the car already.

Springs only hold the car up. It is your shocks that keep it from jumping up and down. A stiffer shock might fix your problem.
