Brakes soft, brake rod location 67 Camaro

67 Camaro, auto, p.s. p.b. GM disc on front, brake shoes on the back with a 383 stroker. When I acquired the car the brakes seemed to have a low pedal and pretty soft. What position should the brake rod be in, in relation to master cylinder to brake pedal? Anyone have a picture showing this relationship of brake rod location. How much vacuum should be normal to have power brakes on this set-up.

Today should be in the lower hole on th brake pedal.

I would start by adjusting the rear brakes and bleeding the system.

Just went through the brake thing. Check each wheels brake system to insure each is working fine. Is the booster to MC the correct length and then bleed the system in the correct order, rr, lr, rf, rl.
