Brake Pedal linkage

My 67 RS/SS had manual disc brakes. I am in the process of upgrading to something similar to the J50 A2 system shown in the FAIM. My Bracket Assembly has both a bumper and a switch that is activated when the brake pedal is against the bumper. Where in the manual is this switch shown? Secondly what does it do?

Re: Brake Pedal linkage

You won't need the bumper for power brakes. the booster rod stops the pedal. You need a metal tab to contact the switch, the tab bolts to the upper "manual" hole in the pedal. the pedal sits lower on a power brake system because the pedal ratio is different and the power master cyl will reach full stroke with half the pedal travel.
My web page has some info on the topic: Brakes
