power steering pump alignment

I installed the March serpentine pulley/bracket kit on 350.* The power steering pump is not square to the block, causing misalignment with the crank pulley (picture).* To align, the outboard side of the pump needs to move back.* I can't put washers on inboard side because that would push pump further away from block (and therefore further out of line with crank pulley). Washers on outboard side make it worse.**

Any thoughts on how to draw the pump back to align and square it?

PS:* I know others have had alignment problems with this system but I used a similar set on the chevelle without issue.

Re: power steering pump alignment

Well Joe, looks like 143 people have read your question without a response. It's hard tell what the solution would be without standing there looking at it. Maybe something needs to be heated and bent to get the pump closer to the block? Hard to tell without seeing the back of the pump and motor.
Yeah, those serpentines are less forgiving on alignment than a belt, as you know.

Re: power steering pump alignment

Can't you put a washer between the pump and the serp backet on the outboard side to push the pump back?

^^^^this or grind some off the engine side of the bracket where it bolts to block/head to bring the bracket back towards engine?

Thanks for replies...I ended up putting a washer between the bracket and pump and yes it did push it back just enough.

When I first thought of this, I assumed the pump would just push out on the bracket but that did not happen.

I forgot to post a picture of mine, I was having technical difficultly with my Team Camaro account a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, I added a washer just like you did.
