Question Disk brake conversion

I'm changing my front Power drum brakes to Power disk brakes on my 1969 Camaro. For these disk brakes to function corectly do I need to change the brake booster and master cylinder? I believe I'm correct in saying the drum brake and disk brake boosters and master cylinders are differren't? Do I have to change the proportioning valve as well? Is the pedal rod going to be a different length?

My plan was to go to the local parts store and get a booster and master cylinder of the shelf. Any problem with that?

Cool Re: Disk brake conversion

You could buy a master cylinder for a disc brake car bought that would be about the only stocking part they would have. I recommend Stainless Steel Brake Company as a good source for everything you need (mostly stock GM parts) all wrapped up and ready to go. You can embellish your kit to taste as well if you desire zinc washed rotors or colored calipers.
