Brake/clutch pedal differences?

I am going to a manual trans. in my 68 and have a brake/clutch pedal setup from a 69 Camaro. Will this work? I see the repro are different for 67/68 and 69. Does anyone know for sure if this will or will not work and exactly why or why not?

Thanks!
Mike

Re: Brake/clutch pedal differences?

Mike -

Do you have the complete 69 setup, including the mount assembly? If so you should be fine.

67-68 had one mount assembly and one brake pedal curvature, and 69 was different. The difference in the mount assemblies is some bracing and where the brake light switch mounts; a 67-68 brake pedal has more curve, so if you use it in a 69 mount assembly, I think the brake pedal is lower than the clutch. I think a 69 pedal in a 67-68 mount would be higher than the clutch pedal.

The clutch pedals are the same all three years.

Re: Brake/clutch pedal differences?

Eric, I don't have the 69 mount, I still have the 68 mount. I will be mounting the brake pushrod into the upper manual hole since I am using a Hydroboost brake system, which I'm not sure would make a difference. I looked at the old auto brake pedal and see waht you mean about the curvature. Oh well, thats what I get for not doing my homework before I buy!

Re: Brake/clutch pedal differences?

Eric, For the heck of it, I installed the 69 pedal setup in my 68 and just like you said the brake pedal sat up MUCH higher than the original 68 auto brake pedal.

Anyone want to trade 69 clutch/brake pedals for a 67/68 clutch/brake pedals?
