Steering Gearbox stud

the stud whic i belive accepts an 1 and a quater washer on my steering gearbox is stripped and the nut wont go on? well the threads are just a little messed up. and suggestions?

Are you talking about the pitman arm retaining nut that takes a very large socket to remove? Sector shaft nut? There are some thread chasers for this , unless like you say, its stripped all the way,,, its gone. Buy a new rebuilt unit. not expensive.

A good opportunity to upgrade your steering box if you haven't allready done it.

I am actually desperately in need of all my money to refinish the entire front-end on a performance budget. i took it apart three days ago finished getting everything off including ripping my breaklines on accident and need it all back on done in 3 weeks.
