Issues with control arm bushings

Hey, not long ago i put energy suspension control arm bushings on my car, and after driving the car no more than 20 miles, the upper rear ones on both sides look like they're falling apart. The control arm moved up and down freely when i installed them so i don't understand what would cause them do this...any ideas?

Question Re: Issues with control arm bushings

Do your upper A-Arm shafts have nuts or bolts??

I'd think about safety wiring either kind and I am going to before I get done..

they bolt on, and i noticed when i had the car jacked up with the wheels off the ground the urenthane went back tight to the bar that the a-arm articulates on. i dont know if you seen it in the pictures, which weren't the greatest, but when its on the wheels the urethane portion balloons off the a-arm bar about 1/4 inch

Mine do the same thing and I was wondering about this too but the gut that did my alainment said he did not see a problem with them because there was no support on the outer section like the inner wrap with metal so ti really not doing anything on the out sides for support. If you still think there is a problem you could talk to the suppler and see what they say?Let me know if you do but I realy dont feel like changing mine out what a pain unless it gets worse.

Don't have an answer, but mine have been on the car 6 years and don't look like that.

Did you wait till the car was on the ground at ride height before tightening those bolts?

Re: Issues with control arm bushings

I did tighted mine with the car on the ground.I thought maybe because I jacked my car up and down so much with them loose until I got everyelse installed that this could have caused this to happen? But they are not split and everything else is now done hopfuly they will contour back like they should but I dont see any real problem at this time and maybe need to drive it first.Put some miles on it.Still waiting on Hagartiy come on insurance commpany send me my papers.
