Torque specs? Front end rebuild?

Guys,

You talked me off the ledge on a rear spring R&R....
What do you torque the shock plate to?

Now the front end

I have the left side ft end torn down on my 69. I am doing a complete ft end rebuild w/ PST rebuild kit. The Ball joints are all original. How do you get all the rivets ground down. I can get to 3 of the 4 heads, but the last one is behind the shaft and the edge of the control arm.

I have a 6ton press. Any tips on getting the old bushings out, and or the new ones in.

Drill that hidden rivet head out.
The other one's that you already removed will give you a good idea what size drill bit to use.

Re: Torque specs? Front end rebuild?

Shock plate torque specs depend on what size bolts your using. I got this info from a suspension shop. 3/8-24 = 30lbs, 7/16-20=45lb, 1/2-20=65lb, 9/16-18=90lb, and 5/8-18=120lb. I'm using stock plates on my 69 12 bolt and they use the 1/2-20.
