Pitman Arm

When changing from Manual to power steering can you use the manual pitman arm? Or do you need to change it too?
Thanks

Re: Pitman Arm

I think the the manual and power steering boxes have different size shafts for the pittman arm.

Re: Pitman Arm

Yes, power boxes have a larger shaft. Most parts stores can get a PS pitman arm for you. There are two lengths, long and short. The long arm yields a faster ratio, -less turns lock to lock.

Part numbers are in a sticky thread at the top of this forum section.
