Rear Brake Drum Question

my second project car is a '52 chevy pickup street rod. it was converted to front disc brakes with rear drums sometime in the past.

i'm rebuilding the rear drum brakes but can't find any p/n's on the rear axle assembly. so i'm not sure what vehicle this specific 10 bolt rear came in.

the rear drums are 9.5 x 2.00 finned drums, with a 4.75 bolt circle.

i believe that these would also be stock drums on the '69 camaros.

is that correct? does the '69 also use a 4.75 bolt circle??

thanks

bill

Re: Rear Brake Drum Question

Alot of guys use an S-10 chassis with those older trucks. My son has a 53 chevy sitting on an S-10 chassis. Frankenstein as I like to call it. I think a 10 bolt rear is too wide for those old trucks. Good luck.

Re: Rear Brake Drum Question

i've seen several threads about guys using the s-10 chassis under older trucks. but this is an original chassis with a nova subframe welded into the front. just picked this up last weekend, and have to get the rear brakes set before i want to drive it much.

Re: Rear Brake Drum Question

If you get the Casting numbers and date from the center section along with the axle assembly code (they are hard to see sometimes) from the front passenger side of the axle tube you should be able to decode it's origin.
If all else fails, you can contact 'big gear head' Fred on here and he can help you fiqure out the correct parts for it.
