Question Strange sound after disk brake conversion

I just had my front drums replaced with a disk conversion kit from Mattís Classic Bowties. The brakes are made by CPP. The brakes are fine but I noticed when driving down the freeway, if I hit a good sized bump (here in California our freeways suck) I hear what sounds like a scrape coming from the front; almost metallic. I do not see any thing under the wheel well or along the fender to suggest the tire is hitting, but if it is why now? Could the spindles be slightly different? Or is it coincidentally time for new shocks or springs or both up front.

Re: Strange sound after disk brake conversion

You need to find out where it's hitting.
Look for a shiny spot, it should be there somewhere.

Re: Strange sound after disk brake conversion

Good question! I will check, like I said I am hearing a metallic sound when this happens.

Re: Strange sound after disk brake conversion

Check tire to wheelwell clearance, also rim to caliper clearance.
Discs push the wheel out aprox 1/2".
