Confirm my Back Spacing Please

Okay Guys I ran a search and it appears that most of you are running 245 or 255 60.15 on 15x7 or 15x8 rims with a 4.5 b/s. So before I go out and change what I currently am running. I need to hear that Im going down the correct road. I currently am running 235 70 15s on 5.5 b/s Weld Pro Star 15x8 rims on the rear of my 69 and even with a 5/16 spacer. ( I know I hate them too https://www.camaros.net/forums/images/smilies/mad.gifit was on the car when I bought it) I still rub on the drivers side going in and out of driveways. I think my whole problem is the b/s on the rim. So I am going to order a set from Weld with 4.5 b/s and then go with a set of 255 60.15 BFGs Does anyone out there think I going to run into trouble. I know its a wider tire that Im running now but by moving from a 70s to 60s series tire and changing the b/s from 5.5 to 4.5 I think I should be okay based on the posts that Ive read. Thanks Guys

a 255 on an 8" with 4.5" bs will be fine

On a 15 x 8 wheel with 4.5" bs you should be able to go as big as a 275/60 without issues (on a stock height car). So a 255/60 should have plenty of room.
