Draglites and Drag Radials

How would a 255/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radial look on a 67 Camaro, with 15x8 4.5''bs draglites?

Car has a 10 bolt 8.5'' from a 71 Camaro, so it's what an inch wider total?

Thanks!

Since the rear is wider than stock, you'll need more backspace. If rear is 1" wider overall then add 1/2" to backspace per side. 4.5" on a stock rear works well, so you "should" need 5" backspacing. Measure it.

Re: Draglites and Drag Radials

The 4.5'' fit fine, I don't think they make a Draglite or Pro star in 8'' with 5''bs, I think its 5.5'' bs....

I'm curios to see as how the 255 would look compared to me gambling with the 275-60....I have 28x10.5 ET Drags on now But they are a bit on the big side...

I think I should lower my rear end an inch or so....

Now if you were to lower that as it is you would see you need more backspace due to the tire hitting the wheelwell lip. If you lower the car and install a shorter/narrower tire it will have the same gap and gain nothing but a lower car.

This is a 285/60/15 SH (sh = short) McCreary's on an 15x8 with 4.5" bs. Yes they rub but only slightly (off camber bumps, hard corners)

Re: Draglites and Drag Radials

Doug is right...4.5" probably wont work with the wider rear end. I am running 275/50/15's BFG Dr's on Weld's 15x8's with 4.5" bs. It barley fits and I still needed to trim the fender lips. Check with center line. They have there Convo Pro's with 5" bs. The 235/60/15's should fit with 4.5" bs and are still 26.1" tall. They are a nice fit on 8" wide wheels.

Re: Draglites and Drag Radials

I would go with a 275 50...but it's wider than the 60....those 28x10.50's fit without rubbing at all (before chassis problem)

I don't know if they make a 8'' 5.5''bs rim from Weld....that might be too close to the inside.....

I'll go size it up tomorow...
