Any 16" OEM Steel Wheels?

I'm trying to see if there is a 16x 7 to 8", 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern steel wheel available that will fit a 69 Camaro. I'm trying to emulate rally wheels in 16". I tried some from a 2000 Camaro but the back spacing was way off causing the wheel to not clear the tie rods or rear shocks. Besides this, these would have worked fine since 16" trim rings are no problem and I probably could have found a way to mount the derby caps (no bungs on the wheels to catch the cap fastener). I was hoping someone here had found something that would work in a available OEM steel wheel. Thanks.

What style of wheel are you looking for ? The ralleye wheels or ? newstalgia.com has ralleye type wheels in 17". Not very many 16" wheels anymore. It's tough to find tires that will fit 16" also. I like the looks of 16" rims better then the 17". wheelvintiques.com is another.

69 Camaro -originally a LM1 car. 327, Edelbrock E-streets, hooker, DUI performance distributors, ultradyne cam, stewart, TRW etc. Vintage Air, AGR steering, Corbeau GTSII seats, 700R4 transmission, 12-bolt w/Eaton 4.11:1

Re: Any 16" OEM Steel Wheels?

TJS69,

I'm not sure if Kelsey Hayes makes a 16" black steel wheel for 1991 & 1992 Z28's. Back in the day when I worked for a Goodyear Dealer in 1991 & 1992 we were able to get full sized steel wheels for 5.7L IROC-Z's with 16" wheels, 1991 & 1992 Z28's & RS Camaro's with 16" wheels. If I remember correctly I think way back then I ordered a set of steel wheels from Stone Wheel in Woodridge, IL and then a set of tires from Tire Rack in Indiana. I did this a few times in the mid 1990's as well. I can't recall if a 16" steel wheel was offered at any time even today for a 1969 Camaro. FWIW I have been out of the auto service, wheel & tire game & even new car dealership service department game since 1998.

But to answer your question I do not ever recall anyone making a 16" steel wheel that would fit on a 1969 Camaro the last time I checked. On another note I do believe I have seen 16" 1969 Rally Style wheels on a 1969 Camaro. And I think those were chrome.
