What tires would you go with ?

Ok her is the new project. Car is a 1967 coupe 327/210 base model .Now that I have my rallie rims mounted. I have a chance to properly restore my original 14 in steel rims with dog dish. I have both flat (copo style) and stock dog dish. I will be painting them the color of the body Ermine white. My goal is to have a set of stock original wheel to go back to from time to time. What tires would look best.

1.Firestone wide oval raised white letters (bias ply)
2.Firestine red line wide oval (Bias ply)
3.black wall radials
4.goodyear poly glas (Biasply

Thanks

Before I give you my opinion, I'd like to know how your Camaro is used. Daily driver? Show Car? Sunday driver? etc.

My opinion is BF Goodrich Radial T/A. They've always done the job for me.

I really like the BF TA's for the looks, but the more I see Red Line tires the more appropiate they look. I'm thinking about picking up a set of rally wheels just so I can have a spare set of red lines to put on the car from time to time.

Re: What tires would you go with ?

I went for the stock look on my 32,000 mile Z. But I still wanted to drive it some. They were bad. I had one new in 69 and I had forgotten how poorly they handle. I then went to a set of BFG radials and I was lucky to find a set of Z rallies. So I had two sets. One for the concourse shows and one for cruising. If I was going to do it I would look for the redwall radial. I am pretty sure coker makes them. It would really pop on the white car. I would stay away from bias belted unless it is a trailer queen.

I have owned 3 69 Z/28s: Garnet Red 30,000 mi unrestored.
Glacier Blue, documented Canadian Z
Rallye Green purchased new in 1969

I like the BFG T/A too. Stay away from the bias ply. Diamond Back makes a red line RADIAL if you like that look: www.dbtires.com.

Re: What tires would you go with ?

IIRC, Coker has the redlines too, using the old bfg radial ta tread pattern.

Scott from NJ. Stay thirsty, my friends
