What are the bigest tires I can fit on the 69

I just got my calvert suspension in. I will be bolting my 12 bolt and suspension in this week end. The rear end is the stock width. The leaf springs are also going in the stock location. The only thing not stock about it is the suspension is going to lower the rear ride height an inch. I will be buying new wheels. I need to know with out tubing what is the biggest tire I can fit under the car and what offset am I going to need the wheels to be to accomplish this feet.

Thanks
Wade

Re: What are the bigest tires I can fit on the 69

I am wanting a drag wheel and tire combo. some 15 inch wheels. I don't know If should get 8 inch wide wheels or if I should get 10 inch wide wheels for the back. Can I stuff 28 x 10.5s on the back? Can I go wider on the back maybe with the right backspacing on wheels? These are the questions I need answered.

Thank you much
Now I must go work on the car

Re: What are the bigest tires I can fit on the 69

I previously ran the biggest you can fit, it requires rolling the outer fender lips and will have some slight rubbing if turning out of a parking lot or passengers in the rear, but drag racing its fine

Weld Racing Draglite Wheels
Part # : WLD-90-57346
15" x 7" 3.5" Backspace

Mickey Thompson Indy Profile H50-15
Model 1074
Size Equivalent - 295/50-15

1969 Camaro - GM 2003 Electron Blue
Beck Racing 383 cu in 465HP Engine - Sean Murphy Inductions Stage 2 Quadrajet
TCI Streetfighter 350 - 3.73:1 Posi 10 Bolt Rear - 12.6 sec qtr mile

Re: What are the bigest tires I can fit on the 69

I got 275/50 15
on 10" TT-II w/ 4,75" BS

There is no way to fit bigger tires on my car with stock ride height and no tub work without them sticking out from under the fender.

Now I donīt know if there are much differances between the 69 Camaro and 68 Firebird like mine but I doubt there is room for more rubber.

Sticky tires donīt need to be all that big.
