Looking for a mean look...but nice

So, I am getting to the wheel part of my restoration and I am still not fully decided on my wheel selection.

My paint is going to be gunmetal with racing stripes that are just a shade or two closer to black. She is also going to have side pipes...

What I want rim wise is something that has a black or gunmetal/anthracite middle with a polished lip (and maybe polished studs?). You know, mean looking, but with some cleaned up edges to it. I like the idea of it.

like the hemi cude her in the boze gallery. (which are rims i am looking at too)
http://www.bozeforged.com/cus2.html

So any good suggestions? I have checked out some Boze, but I am hoping for something that wont cost me the price of a used corolla just for rims. (however I am not a cheap skate, just checking other options.)

I am also considering some american racing torq thrust m's that are gunmetal or black as well...

but I am looking for good suggestions or places with deals?

Keep in mind there are other wheel companies such as Budnik and Intro that offer custom finishing. Therefore you can have the centers and the hoops done however you want.

Re: Looking for a mean look...but nice

I ran E-60's and L-60's on my car for quite a while and i'm here ta say, it looked MUSCULAR!!

E's I figure are a 215-60/14 on 7" rims and my L's measured a modern 298-53/14 on 9" rims!! Tires, 25.5" tall and square shouldered and 26.5" tall and WIDE and also square shouldered!!

I'm sure guy's have posted pic's of this stance you want so pick your tire diameters first, then your rim sizes and widths.

If you like the torq thrusts and a gunmetal center... another wheel you may want to take a look into is the Coys C5.

Here is a link to their Camaro photogallery http://www.coyswheel.com/g_camaro.html

You might like the wheels I put on my car. They are from the same vendor as hwhawk. The set with tires was under 1,000. Check out my sig.

Re: Looking for a mean look...but nice

If I recall correctly, those look very similar to the original Cobra wheels... Not to be confused with the Cobra Mustang.
I do believe the Mustang had very similar wheels as well.

If you like the wheels, but want a slightly different look, I wonder if you could have them swap out the centercaps with a simple billet cap, rather than the spinners.

Re: Looking for a mean look...but nice

It is the exact rim used on shelby cobras. The little guy in the middle isnt a spinner, just decoration.

I did a google image search by the rim name and got a ton of cobras with that exact rim.

Hey z10..I don't know how to post pics here. There are pics posted on here. Do a search for "Considering selling my 69 RS Camaro" in the what's it worth section. I will try to find it. Brian
