275 on 15x8 rally?

Will that fit under my 68 coupe without rubbing, wheeltubs or narrowing the rear end?

Thanks

Re: 275 on 15x8 rally?

Im running 275/50/15's on 15x8's. Backspacing is right at 4.5". Its a tight fit but my car is LOW. If your car is not real low it will fit no problem.

Re: 275 on 15x8 rally?

Here's a pic of my car with that wheel/tire, it's a 275/60-15 drag radial on a 4.5 BS 15X8 ralley. You can see if it was real low it would be a problem since it's right under the lip, but mine actually sits too high right now, I am going to go about 1" lower in the rear and it has room for that, and a bit more up front when I redo my suspension this winter (it's running stock springs right now).

Re: 275 on 15x8 rally?

Anyone using this tire and wheel combo with a 4.750" or 5" b.s. 15x8 wheel? I am helping a friend with his '67 Camaro. A 5" bs would work but, how much tire clearance and flex to the inner wheel wells should we allow for?

Re: 275 on 15x8 rally?

5" would be pushing it. My 275's with 4.5bs rub on the inside of the wheel well under cornering or going up curbs at an angle. With a 5" bs I would use a 255/60/15. That should fit perfect.

Re: 275 on 15x8 rally?

I had 295 wide McCreary's on a 15X7 Rally from a mid-70's Monte Carlo on my 67 and it only rubbed on the inside of the fenderwell on the right side when i made sharp left turns.

Thanks for the replies. We will do some more measuring and test fitting next week.
