Will 14x6 rally be ok with F70 14 tires

Hey all was wondering if there will be any problem running 14X6 YW Rally wheels with F70x14 Good year polyglas tires on '69 SS 350 car? I know SS should have 14x7. Any problems here?
Thanks

You shouldn't have any issues. F70X14 is 26.24" in Overall Diameter (OD). I have a 1969 Camaro as well. I run P235/60R15 all the way around with no rubbing on 15x7 Chrome Rally's; the OD on this size is 26.10". I have front disc brakes.

Here is one helpful link http://www.turbinecar.com/tires.htm

Although a 7" wide wheel is generally recommended I was running P245/60R14 on the front of my first Camaro (a 1969) with 14x6 factory Rally's. That was on a car with front drums.

Here is another helpful link. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit

The top link has a pretty cool conversion chart for old tire sizes.

Bottom Line: Basically a 7" wide wheel will help push the tire out a little further which will increase your contact patch over a 6" wide wheel. But in the 9 years I worked in the auto service/tire service I never had any issues with putting tire sizes like yours on 14x6 wheels. FWIW, I also specialized in tire adjustments & warranty claims back in the day from about 1989/1990 - 1998 even when I worked for new car dealers and/or when I worked for Goodyear's, Firestone's etc....Yea I have alot of rust on me now but I still remember a thing or two.

Thanks Greg. I was worried that I should have bought a E instead of an F.
But when I bought the tires I thought(famous last words) I had a 14x7. Come to find out it's a 14x6. This car is not going to be driven hard. Main purpose is ashow car. Just wanted to make sure I was not going to have any wheel tire issues that could hurt my beloved '69 like the tire coming off the rim.
Happy New Year to you! Thanks
Doug
