BFG Radial T/A's 215/60/15

I am letting everyone know who has been waiting for the BFG TA 215/60/15 tire that has been on back order for the past 4+ months may still wait even longer.

I just got done talking with a rep from BFG that says they are still making that size tire but havent started production yet. And it may be a few more month before they do.

Here is BFG's phone 800-521-9796 if you would like to ask for additional information or let them know you have been waiting for the tire as well.

Maybe a few calls will get the production started faster.

I may use the 225/60/15 up front but not sure what fitment issues I may run into.

Edit:
I am putting them on the front of my 68 RS Convertible that I did the steering mod on. I am trying to use a smaller tire to have the steering steer a little easier.

They told me last May that they were going to start soon on that size...

I dont know what you are putting them on, but I have used 225 , 235 and now 245 on my 69. Sometimes, on a bump and turn, the front wheels may hit the headlamp bucket covers with the 245. No issues on rear.

Re: BFG Radial T/A's 215/60/15

Wow I bought a set of BFG 215/60/15 last year at a tire shop that had them in stock and just sold them for $50 each so I could go with the Goodyear polyglas tires. I wish I knew you guys were looking.
Hope you get them soon.

Re: BFG Radial T/A's 215/60/15

I opted for 215/65-15 up front with 255/60-15's out back. It may be an option if you want to avoid the wait. The difference in tire diameter is: 215/60 = 25.2" vs 215/65 = 26"

Mike, I run 225 -15 on a 8 in rim with disk brakes and they rub in a hard turn and bad bump.

I am about to try 225/70R15 on my 68. I am hoping these will work with no rubbing.

215/65R15 look better. More in proportion.

I already had the 225/70R15. I am taking them off one car so I can buy new wheels and tires for another. Not sure if they will work but I am hoping.

Re: BFG Radial T/A's 215/60/15

I'm currently running the P225 60 15s and the drivers tire will rub the fender front fender well when the wheel is cranked all the way during a left turn. It didn't do this with stock drums/spindles but started when I converted to SSBC discs/spindles. I'm now also looking for a substitute size w/slightly less diameter. What about 50-15s up front? Anyone running them? I've also seen some 55-15s made by another co.
