69 Rally wheels on a 67?

Will 15" Rally wheels fit without any problems on a 67? I'm thinking of upgrading to disc brakes, but most kits says to use 15" if I do this.

At the moment I've got 14" rims with 215/70 tires at the front, but they rub against the subframe at full turn. What is the max dimensions I can use and still get a clearance between the tire and the frame?

I run 15X8 with 4 1/2 backspace on my 68 and they rub very little however on the wheel trim and not the inside. They have 225-60-R15 fronts and 255-60-R15 in the rear. The disk brake setup should also push the rims out about a 1/2 inch so it will be even better for you.

Re: 69 Rally wheels on a 67?

You can generally fit less tire under the front of a 1967 or 1968 vs a 1969 model. The same is reciprocated in the rear as a 1967 or 1968 will take a bigger tire in the back than a 1969 from what I have seen.

I have 15x7 Rally's all the way around my 1969 'Maro w/ P235/60/R15 without any clearance issues....You may want to run P215/60/R15 on the front of your 1967. On some '67's a P225/60R15 may rub.

Re: 69 Rally wheels on a 67?

Problem is DMV here will not accept 14" front and 15" back. I have to have the same dimensions (at least when the car is being inspected), and will go for 15" front and back. I can get some used 15" rims from a 69, so I understand they will fit my 67, but I have to be careful how wide tires I choose.
I'll go back to the 14"(215)/15"(235) set up when the car has been approved.

Thanks!

I have P235/60R15 on the frt.& P255/60R15 on the rear of my 67'. I have the FW code rally's from a 69' Chevelle ( at least i think they are) and the disc brake set-up from a 69' camaro.
