Tire pressures?

Just wondering what you guys run for tire pressures on the street in your hot rods? I'm running Nitto 555's (275/40 & 245/45). I know the tires have a max pressure but I'm wondering what the optimal is.

Thanks

Re: Tire pressures?

Yep I agree w/ Viktor. 32-35 PSI on the street. 30-35 PSI has been pretty much what OEM specs from the factory have been on most cars & even SUV's for decades on 14, 15 16 & yes even 17" tires.

Re: Tire pressures?

When I throw on new rubber, I also get full alignment.
Out about 32 psi then watch how the little nobbly bits wear, and the tread surface
If it wears in the middle slightly I drop the pressure a little
wear on the outsides, up the pressure.
Then stick to those pressures for the life of those tyres.

Winter wet roads, I do drop a couple psi

Re: Tire pressures?

I dont think the little nobbly bits are for that...I think they have something to do with when they pop the tyres out of the moulds...
