Spare Tire

Hi, I need to get a spare tire and rim for my '68 convertible. Would I just ask for a standard 5 lug chevy 14" rim, or is their some other size or style that I'll need to mention?

Re: Spare Tire

Russ...why not be on the look out for a "Space Saver"? Ever so often you see one come up on Ebay... or check out the older boneyards. You might get lucky.

I have one in my vert, and it gives ya that much more room to bring stuff in the trunk.

Just a thought, eh?

Re: Spare Tire

I'm not sure that every Chevy 14" rim will clear disc brakes.

Re: Spare Tire

Russ, if you have a factory correct car, the spare matches the other 4 tires. If your car is modded, then a space saving donut is fine, just make sure it clears in the front. Or just carry around a couple cans of tire goo

Re: Spare Tire

Doesnt matter what rim Dia u use..what is important is the overall circumferance, when on the rear ..theyNEED to be the same
The rim as mentioned above must clear calipers etc
Jaguar, holden HQ have the same stud pattern, and a couple of jappas,(subaru I think??) these are metic equivilent, but are close enough for a spare.

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative
