Spare Tire Storage

I'd like to secure my spare tire correctly in the trunk. I plan on getting the hold down bolt and nut to mount it to the floor bracket.

Looking at the Assembly manual, it shows the bumper jack placed under the tire and the jack base between the tire and the hold down bolt.

I don't plan on ever using a bumper jack to jack up the car, but in order to mount the spare securely, do I need to get a bumper jack also, or would bolting the tire down with the hold down bolt and nut secure the tire sufficiently to keep it in place with no rattles or squeeks?

Re: Spare Tire Storage

you will not need the jack to hold the tire in place, but the bottom plate of the jack is what you use to run the wing nut against to hold the wheel down in place so you will need that piece.. I gave all my jack pieces away
