Powder Coating Wheels

I've got a 97 30th anniversary Z28 with white whells that get stained/chipped over a period of time. Anyone know about powder coating wheels, where, estimated cost etc.?

Yellow pages. Might try White Post Restorations down the road from you, if they don't, they might suggest a place close by. Charge will be by the lot, I imagine.

Re: Powder Coating Wheels

You might consider one of the Eastwood powder coating kits and doing it yourself. Few buddies and I went in together and been able to get some good results. We are still learning but I bet for what it would cost to do the wheels you could buy their Elite kit and some paint (~200.00) and do it yourself. Just need an oven (don't tell your wife ).

I recommend getting an used oven and ONLY use it for powder coating baking. The fumes emitted during the baking process don't do food well and your body won't like it.

Be sure to test the oven first with a known thermometer before using it to ensure you don't overtemp the wheels.
