Re: American Racing ? whats the go ?

I bought some TT ST's for my truck almost a year ago, made in China stickers on the back side of each one. Now I'll say they are great wheels and the chrome finish is great and holding up well. This truck is a daily driver and has to stay outside all the time unlike our Camaros.

Seriously...avoid at all costs.
Do a quick search and see where others have experienced long delays, received damaged wheels, bad welds that won't hold air,or require 9 oz to balance.

Ask yourself if this is what you want for your American classic...?

So many other great truly American-made wheels to choose from...you really do get what you pay for.

Re: American Racing ? whats the go ?

I had no idea. How long has there been quality issues with American Racing? And when did the start making them in China?

Here is another option in 18" that looks similar.
Boyd Junk Yard Dogs. I think they are made here but not 100% sure.

Well truthfully it comes down to what you like, American Racing goes all the way back to the 50s and many camaro owners have tt'2s on this very site, it really comes down seriously as to who you buy your wheels from, i would check out Jeggs and Summitt, Nagstalgia wheel, if some1 on this site got american racing wheels with a dent and a sticker from china than i doubt they got them any of the 3 reputable companies i stated above.

As far as what you like, aluminum polished versus chrome, or what ever i suppose it depends on lets say how you drive, and what you like, once you narrow that down than buy them from an american company that has been around for a while, i think the tt'2s look good, i still decided to go with cragars SS due to having more of a time period generation look rather than the retro look as I see TT'2 on all sorts of cars and trucks.

Regradless TT'2 and cragars, you can get from the vendors above, and yes they are american made good luck.

it about helping others

Re: American Racing ? whats the go ?

In your original post you said you wanted 18s. If that's the case take a look at Team III E/T Classic 5s http://www.etwheels.com/et/classic5.html . They are available in full polish also. They are more money than the TTIIs but from my personal experience their customer service and quality was great.
