Re: 1967 Wheel and Tire Combo's...
With the 275/40-17 on 17 x 9.5" with 5.5 bs I do get a slight rubbing on the top inside edge of rear drivers tire to inner wheel well when the axle is tilted/angled (going over speed bump at an angle, reversing down steep grade while turning etc...) My 12 bolt wheel mounting surface with discs is the exact same length as a factory 12 bolt with drums wheel mount surface.( rotors are just a little thicker then the drums so when I cut my ends off for pressed on bearings/moser axles I compensated for the added rotor thickness)
255/45-17 kumhos on 17 x 8 w/4.75bs
275/40-17 kumhos on 17 x 9.5 w 5.5bs
Maybe these pics will show more difference.
17 x 8 rear wheels with 4 3/4"bs 255's (drum brakes)
17 x 9.5 rear wheels with 5 1/2" bs 275's (disc brakes)
